2 teens charged in DeKalb murder, armed robbery

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- Two teens have been arrested for shooting a man to death inside his DeKalb County apartment earlier this month.

Tilford Baynham, 18, and a 15-year-old boy face charges of murder and armed robbery. Police said the juvenile was arrested Tuesday, while Baynham was taken into custody Wednesday.

The shooting happened July 6 at around 2 a.m. at the Ashgrove Apartments in the 400 block of Hambrick Road.

DeKalb County Police Capt. Steven Fore said the victim, 24-year-old Omar Moore, was in serious condition, but was responsive when officers arrived. Moore was able to tell investigators that he was shot by two men who entered the apartment to rob him.

Moore was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he later died. His girlfriend and children were inside the apartment during the robbery, according to police.
