Learn to plant and preserve at the DeKalb Cooperative Extension

DECATUR – The DeKalb County Cooperative Extension is hosting a seminar about planting a vegetable garden, safe and careful canning and preserving garden produce. The program, From the Garden to the Table is open to the public and costs $10.

The program will be held on Wednesday, May 18 from 10 a.m. until noon at the.

Refreshments will be served. The DeKalb Cooperative Extension Training Room is located at 4380 Memorial Drive, Suite 200 in Decatur.

ATTENTION: Commercial Property Owners! Disregard Property Assement values

Gwinnett County, GA--  (submitted by Gwinnett Communications)

The commercial property value assessment notices that were mailed on Friday, March 25 should be disregarded due to a production error by the vendor. Corrected notices will be issued on April 6. The Gwinnett County Board of Tax Assessors contracted with a private company to print and mail the 13,944 commercial property notices. The commercial property assessment notices were sent to the incorrect owner.  

The printing company will bear the entire cost of reprinting and mailing all notices of current assessment to the correct property owners.

Stormwater Credits Application Deadline extended to March 1

Gwinnett County, GA--  (submitted by Gwinnett Communications)  Stormwater credits are available to Gwinnett County property owners who take actions to limit the amount of stormwater that leaves their properties or clean pollutants from the stormwater runoff. There are four credit categories available: Watershed Stewardship, Water Quality, Channel Protection, and Peak Flow. The total maximum credit for any property is 40 percent.
