Dekalb's Great October Trash Clean-Up Nets Big Results

Atlanta, GA--  DeKalb County Public Safety Director William Z. Miller announced exceptional results from October’s Great DeKalb Clean-Up initiative.  Numerous county workers from various departments assisted in the Clean-Up effort, which took place along several major corridors in DeKalb County.   During the last four weekends, crews worked tirelessly along Buford Highway, Flat Shoals Pkwy, Memorial Drive and Covington Hwy to clean up unsightly debris and illegal road signs.  A total of 2,660 pounds of debris and signs were taken off the streets by DeKalb County Government Employees and Community Service Workers.  DeKalb County’s code enforcement division also took part in the initiative and issued over 120 court summonses for illegal signs.
