ADOPT A PET: Meet Zoya | Pets
DECATUR, Ga. - If you dream of coming home to a wet nose, wagging tail and tons of kisses (in addition to, perhaps, a half chewed shoe or overturned trashcan) adopt a puppy from your local pet shelter. According to the ASPCA, approximately 5 million to 7 million domesticated animals enter animal shelters nationwide, every year, and approximately 3 million to 4 million are euthanized. However, you can change those numbers but adopting a "companion" for yourself or your family. Pets are an investment but, in our opinion, an investment well worth the money.
Zoya is a year old Beagle mix and according to the Humane Society she’s a “wiggly, tiny, love bug”. Zoya warms up to people relatively quickly and she loves belly rubs and being a lap dog. The Humane Society thinks a treat for Zoya would be a pile of leaves because she enjoys diving in, rolling over and popping out of leaves. She weights about fifteen lbs and would be easy to take on different excursions. She’s ready to be someone’s right hand man. Zoys can be adopted for $175.00 and is a part of the Small Dog Adoption program at PAWS.
If one should choose to adopt a pet from PAWS Atlanta, the adoption fee includes: vaccinations and de-worming, a veterinarian visit, a microchip and surgical sterilization. And, a list of the basic requirements for adoption can be found here. PAWS Atlanta is located at 5287 Covington Highway in Decatur.
