"Mike is a talented athlete whose leadership and teamwork qualities have made him a standout at Stephenson High School," said John Myers, director of communications for the U.S. Army Accessions Command.

A selection committee hand-picked Davis, a running back, for the team. He is now eligible for numerous awards, including the U.S. Army Player of the Year Award and the American Family Insurance Defensive Player of the Year Award.

Ronald Gartrell, head coach of Stephenson High's football team, will accompany Davis to Texas and cheer him on during the game.
