STONE MTN: 3-Day for the Cure draws thousands of walkers | News
STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- A flood of pink-clad women and men descended on Stone Mountain Friday morning, braving the chilly conditions for a very important cause.
The 2011 Susan G. Komen Atlanta 3-Day for the Cure began at Stone Mountain Park this morning. Its 2,200 participants, including 11Alive Today anchor Karyn Greer, will take a three-day, 60-mile journey through Metro Atlanta, ending Sunday at Turner Field.

Along the way, they will raise awareness and money for breast cancer research with every step they take.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and several local organizations are getting into the spirit with fundraisers and pink-themed events.
