Andy Copeland opens up about Aimee's recovery

SNELLVILLE, Ga. -- The Copeland family continues facing serious challenges with faith and courage as Aimee Copeland fights a flesh eating bacteria.

The 11Alive Help Desk partnered with the American Red Cross Friday for a special Blood Drive honoring Aimee Copeland at Snellville Middle School, where Aimee went to school and her mother has worked for more than a decade.

Scores of Snellville residents, representing a cross-section of the community came to donate their life-saving blood to ensure adequate supplies for Aimee and others in similar situations during the summer months, when supplies lessen.

Andy Copeland, Aimee's father, shared his personal thoughts on an uncertain future, citing the strength he gains in faith and close family ties, in an exclusive interview with Bill Liss of the 11Alive Help Desk.
