ATLANTA (AP) - A judge has dismissed the divorce petition filed by the wife of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church Bishop Eddie Long.

Vanessa Long filed for divorce in December after 21 years of marriage. According to the DeKalb County Superior Court Clerk's website, the case was closed Monday and dismissed without prejudice.

Within hours of announcing her intentions to end her marriage - citing blistering news media coverage and saying the union was "irretrievably broken" - conflicting reports of her decision emerged. Days later, the pastor told his congregation he was taking time away from the pulpit to focus on his family.

He has since returned.

The Longs were married March 10, 1990. The couple has three children together and another child from Long's previous marriage.
