Well not exactly “our” town as in Cumming GA.  But if you have little ones that love Sesame Street or if you just feel like going back to your childhood, then this is a GREAT reason to head into the “big city”!

Sesame Street Live is bringing “Elmo’s Super Heroes” to Phillips Arena September 8th – 11th.

A little about the show:  “Poor Super Grover has lost his super-ness! Never fear, the fabulous five Super Heroes are here — featuring Elmo as Captain Fuzzy! Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Zoe and all their furry friends are on a quest to put the “super” back in Super Grover.

Atlanta Urban League Young Professionals 'Dream Catchers' Gala Honors Key Stakeholders in Atlanta

ATLANTA -- "What's Happenin' in SWAT (SW ATL)..." Did you know... On August 12, 2011 (7:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.), the Atlanta Urban League Young Professionals (AULYP) will host its annual signature awards gala, Dream Catchers.

The event which was designed to honor local community leaders who exemplify excellence in serving their community and high school seniors who demonstrate excellence in academics, will take place at the Bill Lowe Art Gallery (1555 Peachtree Street #100, Atlanta).  Nina Brown of WXIA-TV 11 Alive News will serve as the mistress of ceremonies for the occasion.

This year’s award nominees represent key stakeholders in the Atlanta community who were identified based on their work in areas relevant to AULYP’s empowerment initiatives: education; economic growth; health and quality of life; civic engagement and leadership; and civil rights and racial justice.

Stone Mountain, GA --  V-103 and the We Need 2 Read Foundation will be supporting Dekalb teachers by throwing them a big back to school party at Echelon 3000 this weekend.

They will be giving away $5000 in laptops and school supplies to the Dekalb County school with the most attendees, so gatehr up all your co-workers and come out.

1 lucky teacher will also win an I-pad 2!

AUGUST 27th GET READY TO RIDE!!! 

The Iron Warriors Motorcycle Club is sponsoring and organizing this event for a fallen fellow friend and colleague who lost his battle with cancer May 28th, 2011.  He was a fomer MP, former Roswell Ga. Police Officer, and current Senior Federal Air Marshal.   The 1st Annual  BILL FITZGERALD MEMORIAL BENEFIT RIDE will start at 10am on Saturday August 27 at Six Ways 2 Sunday 1815 Hwy 138 Conyers, Ga.   Kickstands up at 11:30am  This is a Police escorted ride.  $20 per Bike, $30 Two Up
All proceeds will benefit the Fitzgerald Family.  

The ride will approximately be just over 100 miles round trip. North on Hwy. 138 to east bound I-20.  East on I-20 to exit 130 (Just past Lake Oconee).
