Public Screening and Panel Discussion of Waiting for Superman

When – Thursday, May 19, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Moving Screening from 5:15 to 6:45; Panel discussion from 7 - 8

Why - Local education plays a vital role in economic development, both in business recruitment, retention, and expansion. There is a direct correlation to superior scholastic achievement in communities where business is involved in education. One might argue that there is no greater economic development interest than that of education.

The screening is part of a national effort by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s National Chamber Foundation to use the film as a catalyst to discuss the crisis in the nation’s schools, the forces standing in the way of needed change, and the steps toward reform.
