DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs contributes to Soles4Souls | Community Spirit

DECATUR – DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Burrell Ellis announces that DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will contribute to the Soles4Souls charity by collecting shoes until Feb. 29, 2012.

Soles4Souls is a shoe charity organization that collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of individuals. Once shoes are gathered, they are distributed to people in need, regardless of race, religion, class, or any other criteria. Since 2005, Soles4Souls has delivered more than 16 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes across the world.

All types and sizes of shoes in good condition will be accepted. To donate to this worthy cause, citizens are asked to tie each pair of shoes together.
