STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Stone Mountain residents have been challenged to spread a little holiday cheer to their community -- Chick-fil-A style.

On Saturday, Dec. 17, the Stone Mountain Chick-fil-A will host a "Pay It Forward" essay contest, where customers can submit a 100-word essay explaining who they would give 50 free classic Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches to, and why.

Chick-fil-A staff members will read the submissions and pick a winner, who will then accompany employees to deliver the 50 sandwiches to the deserving recipient.

"During a time of year when gifts often become the focal point, we wanted to give community members an opportunity to help someone in need," said Nick Goebeler, operator of the Stone Mountain Chick-fil-A, which is located at 5542 Memorial Drive. "We hope this will inspire others to 'pay it forward' during the holidays."

The essay contest will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The winner will be notified between Monday, Dec. 19 and Saturday, Dec. 24.
