Thursday is DeKalb Employee Empowerment Day

September is Workforce Development month and In continuing the celebration of Workforce Development Month; DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Burrell Ellis, Board of Commissioners, and various county departments, in collaboration with DeKalb Workforce Development, will host the first ever DeKalb Employee Empowerment Day Thursday, Sept. 30 at 9 a.m. in the Maloof Auditorium (1300 Commerce Dr.,Decatur).

DeKalb County Government is dedicating this day to acknowledge and show appreciation to its more than 7,000 hard-working employees.  These employees work diligently to provide the best in services to citizens and strive to make DeKalb a healthy, safe and desirable community in which to live, work and play. 

The event will be filled with a host of festivities, including local restaurants, retailers, entertainment, fortune 500 companies, small businesses and more that will offer free or discounted coupons, prizes and giveaways to show their appreciation for the great work of DeKalb employees.  There will also be empowering workshops on health, wellness, financial management and more that employees will have the opportunity to attend.
