Dekalb's Fall Hike & Bike and Greenspace Tour set for Oct. 23 Plus New Trail Opens

Atlanta, GA--  DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Burrell Ellis invites citizens to lace up their running shoes or strap on their bike helmets and join him at Arabia Mountain for the CEO’s Fall Hike & Bike and Greenspace Tour on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 10:30 a.m. The event will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4530 Lyons Rd. in Lithonia to mark the grand opening of a new section of the South River Multi-Use Trail.

Walk, ride through ‘the greenest county in America’

In April, CEO Ellis, along with Commissioners Kathie Gannon, Lee May and Connie Stokes, led more than 200 people through a portion of Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve in Lithonia during the CEO’s Hike & Bike and Greenspace Tour. This season’s event will explore a different portion of the trail, where bikers will ride eight miles and walkers can travel up to five miles.

The CEO’s Fall Hike & Bike and Greenspace Tour is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome.
