Dekalb County, GA--  (Submitted by Dekalb County Government)

DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James was recently appointed to the Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) by Governor Nathan Deal. James joins the 20 member board, which is tasked with providing recommendations for vacant state trial and appellate courts.

“I am honored to join the JNC and the distinguished group of professionals assembled by Governor Deal,” said James. “My objective is to make sound recommendations to the governor as it relates to judicial appointments. The residents of Georgia deserve the most qualified, experienced, ethical and impartial people to serve in these extremely important roles. I take this appointment seriously and look forward to working with my JNC colleagues.”

The JNC will be co-chaired by Randy Evans of McKenna Long & Aldridge law firm and former state legislator Pete Robinson of Troutman Sanders. Additional members of the commissioner include Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens and Douglas County District Attorney David McDade.
