Events

Atlanta, GA--  The Decatur-DeKalb Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women (NCBW) will celebrate the strength and triumphs of thirteen great women during the Sixth Annual Pink & Black Affair at the Holiday Inn Select in downtown Decatur on Saturday, November 6th at 7:00 pm. The Chapter’s purpose is to honor local breast cancer survivors and raise funds for the organization’s Legacy Programs and for local breast cancer research.

Guests at the Annual Pink & Black Affair will enjoy a diverse silent auction, dinner, networking, and dancing.  A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to a local charity to assist in increasing their breast cancer research efforts and resources raised during the Silent Auction will raise scholarship funds for the NCBW Decatur-DeKalb Chapter’s girls’ mentoring and leadership program, aptly named The Legacy Program.

Through community submissions and nominations, the following women have been selected as 2010 Pink & Black Affair Honorees due to their strength and uplifting journey in their fight against breast cancer:

Yasman “Evette” Smith, Linda Scales, Barbara Green, Lavern Lewis, Rebecca Evans, Mary Nicholson, Paula Petty, Kim Evans, Crystal Daugherty, Tammy Fuller, Corzetta Motley, and Sherri A. Banks.
