Group protests Stone Mountain Confederate Flag
STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- A group gathered at Stone Mountain on Saturday to protest the public display of Confederate flags there.
"Public park, public place – these flags should be erased," one protester said.
Members of the African American Equality Committee (AAEC) changed and held signs calling for the Confederate Flag to come down like it did at the State House in South Carolina.
"We don't think that the Confederate Flag should be open for the public because it's causing so much pain after the killings in Charleston, S.C.," AAEC's Stevenson Hudson, Jr. said.
The group said it should be moved to the Confederate Hall at Stone Mountain instead of flying next to the American flag.
